Chinese Literature: Works of Chinese Poets

Works of Chinese Poet: Lao Tzu

Lao Tzu is one of the most prolific writer in Chinese Literature. According to Wikipedia, Lao Tzu also known as Laozi or Lao-Tze. He is the founder of Taoism and is also a deity of such religion. He is a well known author of "Tao Te Ching" which is believed to be the foundation of  Taoism religion.  Other works included from the report are "The Way of Life" and "The Whole Heart of Lao"

Tao Te Ching

This piece is believed to be the guide of Taoism. In this piece Lao tells us about the way of life based on his philosophy. According to Stephen Mitchell's version of Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, there are ten themes found in the book. This include Tao, centeredness, no self, look inside, desire non-desire, not-knowing mind, non-action action, non-resistance, contentment & simplicity, and paradoxes.

The Way of Life

According to New American Library "The Way of Life" is just an English translation of Tao Te Ching.

The Whole Heart of Lao

According to John Bright-Fey, "The Whole Heart of Lao" is just just the same Tao Te Ching.

Overall, what I learned from this literary pieces is that, other people have different ways of looking life. I have also learned that people have different beliefs, therefore, we should not generalized the thought of what we believed for ourselves because not all people are the same. I also learned that people have different views on life which is totally different from the way how we perceived life based on our religion.
